Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is in for a rude awakening. The Office of Congressional Ethics just dropped the gauntlet on the NY Congresswoman more than a year after her stunt at the Met Gala where she wore a very expensive dress that read, “Tax the Rich.” 

In a newly disclosed report from the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE), there is “substantial reason to believe” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) accepted “impermissible gifts” during the Met Gala in 2021.

More than a year ago, conservative groups requested that the committee investigate the New York Democratic congresswoman’s $35,000 Met Gala tickets and designer ‘Tax the Rich’ dress.

According to the report, Ocasio-Cortez may have violated House rules, standards of conduct, and federal law, as the OCE Board unanimously recommended investigation by the House Committee on Ethics.

The report says, “The Board recommends that the Committee further review the above allegation concerning Rep. Ocasio-Cortez because there is substantial reason to believe that she accepted impermissible gifts associated with her attendance at the Met Gala in 2021.”

Leaders of the House Ethics Committee released the report on Thursday, saying they received a referral about Ocasio-Cortez’s conduct last June. According to a press release, they agreed to extend the committee’s review of the matter on December 7, 2022.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is learning the hard way that karma has a way of getting to you, and justice will ultimately be served. According to the newly disclosed report from the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE), there is “substantial reason to believe” she accepted “impermissible gifts”. Because of this, the OCE board unanimously recommended her investigation by the House Committee on Ethics – proving on a rare occasion that democrats are not exempt from the law. Unfortunately for AOC, it’s starting to look like her Met Gala attempt to slam “the rich” as unethical and greedy might end up being the irony of all ironies.
