Biden BLINDSIDED After Top Dem Steps In To Block His Next Nominee

Joe Manchin is back at it again, this time blocking the latest Biden nominee.

Joe Manchin is fast becoming the bad boy of Washington, and his most recent decision to block yet another of President Biden’s nominees has caused chaos in the White House.

When a reporter asked Karine Jean Pierre about Manchin’s decision to not support Biden’s choices this was her response.

Daily caller reports, despite Democratic Senator Joe Manchin’s intention to block the appointment of another administration nominee, the White House said Wednesday that it respects his relationship with the White House.

Following his opposition to Gigi Sohn’s nomination to the Federal Communications Commission, Manchin announced Wednesday he would oppose the nomination of Daniel Werfel as Internal Revenue Service Commissioner.

In the absence of Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman and California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Manchin serves as a pivotal vote for the Democratic majority needed for nominations.

Recently Joe Manchin has taken another stand against a Joe Biden nominee.

Daily Caller reports, Manchin announced Tuesday that he will oppose Gigi Sohn’s nomination to the Federal Communications Commission.

On Twitter Manchin released a statement as to why he would not support the FCC nominee.

He stated “The FCC must remain above the toxic partisanship that Americans are sick and tired of, and Ms. Sohn has clearly shown she is not the person to do that. For those reasons, I cannot support her nomination to the FCC, and I urge the Biden Administration to put forth a nominee who can bring us together, not drive us apart,”

During the 117th Congress, Joe Biden nominated Sohn, a former FCC staff attorney, to serve on the commission. The Senate Commerce Committee, however, was deadlocked on her nomination, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York did not attempt to confirm her. Biden renominated Sohn in January.

Republicans have raised concerns about Sohn’s potential conflicts of interest due to her work at a streaming service and her partisan advocacy. Sohn was director of Locast, an internet-based streaming platform for local news. Upon a federal judge’s ruling in September 2021, the company was shut down for violating copyright laws. Later, Sohn promised to recuse herself from matters related to television broadcasting and retransmission rights. There were additional concerns raised over her political bias.

While some argue that bad choices were made when choosing the candidate, many suggest that Manchin is simply a boss and not afraid to make moves unpopular to the administration, especially when it comes to crucial matters like inflation and economics during a time of crisis. Could this be the real reason for his determination in derailing yet another one of Biden’s plans? We can only stay tuned for what happens next as we await further news from the White House’s reaction.

Let’s continue this conversation, in the comments below.
