McCarthy Sends Biden Warning about His Outrageous Budget Proposal

The Biden administration’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2024 has set off shockwaves among conservatives, who see it as a blatant example of overreach and fiscal irresponsibility. Now, Speaker McCarthy has even stepped in to issue a warning to Biden about, what he calls, his ”not serious” proposal.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has called President Joe Biden’s $6.9 trillion budget proposal “not serious” and warned him against playing games with the debt ceiling.

In his opinion, Biden’s budget proposal will fail in the House, and even Democrats “won’t even vote for it.” The speaker also repeated his calls for Biden to negotiate a budget with him in order to avoid the debt ceiling crisis.

In his roughly $6.9 trillion budget released last week, Biden set the stage for a looming showdown with Republican lawmakers. It outlined a number of progressive wishlist items, including bolstered Medicare and Social Security spending, as well as prescription drug reform, child care funding, and community college funding.

As a result of the budget proposal, the White House estimates that the deficit will be reduced by $2.9 trillion by 2033. A number of tax increases are included in the budget, including ones on capital gains, billionaires, and corporations – measures Republicans have criticized.

It’s clear that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is taking a firm stance against President Joe Biden’s unreal budget proposal of $6.9 trillion for the 2024 fiscal year, calling it non-serious and out of touch with the American people. He believes that even those on the left will not be supportive of such an insane spending plan and strongly advised Biden to look for better options. With the national debt already spiraling out of control, now is not the time for nonsensical funding and compromising our economic stability; rather, an honest dialogue between both sides must commence to create a more balanced approach giving consideration to all aspects of the American people.
