Shake Up at CNN in Response to Low Viewership of Don Lemon Show

CNN’s desperate search for relevance is palpable. Their recent attempts to ‘revive’ their ratings could be seen as nothing more than a ploy – an attempt to cling to the shallow fame of one of their anchors.

Don Lemon has established a reputation for lying, yet he doesn’t seem to be going anywhere soon. It appears that instead of trying a new direction, CNN is so afraid of the fallout from being canceled that they are willing to pander and cater to the anchor in order to hold onto their petty place in the news industry. They’ve hit rock bottom and are now scrambling with this latest move of theirs.

This week, the fake news station brought in two veteran executive producers as reinforcements.

Those on the inside say that they have years upon years of experience in the networking world and high expectations for what they can bring to “CNN This Morning”. What kind of changes will be made?

The New York Post reports, CNN, longtime producer Lauren Mensch and Chris Russell, who recently was the executive producer for NewsNation “On Balance with Leland Vittert,” will succeed Eric Hall.

Lemon has received a flurry of bad publicity in recent weeks.

The host infamously put his foot in his mouth last month by claiming GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley was not in her prime, which not only upset co-anchors Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collin but triggered a firestorm of criticism, leading Lemon to publicly apologize and be sent to “formal training.”

Let’s revisit the SELF tanking moment.

His tone-deaf remark was ridiculed by Michelle Yeoh in her acceptance speech after she won the Oscar for Best Actress on Sunday.

Moreover, Lemon made several on-air gaffes since the revamped show debuted last November, including an off-air blow-up with Collins.

The new producers will bring plenty of experience to try to turn the ship around. Previously, Mensch served as executive producer alongside Alisyn Camerota and Victor Blackwell on CNN Newsroom.

The show drew 360,000 average total viewers and 73,000 viewers in the crucial 25-to-54 demographic last month.

Unfortunately the station will realize the only way to improve the ratings of any CNN show is burn the entire network down (figuratively speaking of course) and start from scratch. Viewers are tired of being gaslit on the daily and lied to by the hour. Bringing in shiny new producers is a waste of resources when the problem is the entire network. They should do us all a favor and shut down.

Let’s continue this conversation, in the comments below.
