Republican lawmakers have often been portrayed as pushovers due to their seemingly submissive nature when it comes to disagreements with their opposition. However, Donald Trump Jr is proving just that by exposing the weak republican senate base with regard to a Biden nomination. The truth is, the members he speaks of are known offenders.

The Washington Examiner reports, the president’s son criticized Senate Republicans who advanced Eric Garcetti’s nomination as ambassador to India, claiming that they were throwing a “lifeline to save a radical Dem.”

Senate Republicans voted 52-42 to advance Garcetti’s nomination to a full vote on Wednesday. The confirmation vote was advanced by seven Republicans and three Democrats.

This decision deserves all the criticism because it’s unacceptable, which is why Don Jr. let them know.

Tweeting: “Why are Republican Senators throwing a lifeline to save a radical Dem like Eric Garcetti? Dems would NEVER do this to save a Republican nominee in peril. This type of weakness is exactly why we’re losing our country. Dems play hardball, while Republicans keep playing tee-ball.”

Republican senators who voted to end the debate were Susan Collins (ME), Bill Cassidy (LA), Steve Daines (R-MT), Lindsey Graham (SC), Bill Hagerty (TN), Roger Marshal (KS), and Todd Young (IN).

The vote to invoke cloture marks an important step for Garcetti, whose nomination had been held up for over a year following allegations that he knew about sexual harassment allegations against one of his staffers. In light of the scandal, it was unclear just how much support President Joe Biden’s nominee would receive from Democrats.

It was confirmed last night, after a year Republicans caved to the nomination.

Like Don Jr. said, this is unacceptable knowing democrats would never relax on a republican nomination like this. However, it’s always the same republicans who cave to democrats while showing republican voters who they are. We need strong conservative leaders who will never cower or we will continue losing on key issues, not just awful nominations.
