Abortion Rejected in Arkansas! Huckabee Sanders Signs Bill for Monument to Unborn

For too long, Arkansas was an afterthought to many in the United States. But all of that is about to change with Sarah Huckabee as the new governor at its helm. Her strong pro-life stance is making waves and has caught the attention of conservatives across the country who are now turning their gaze to the Razorback state. They can expect a whole new level of conservatism under Governor Huckabee’s reign.

The state of Arkansas has taken a very passionate stance towards protecting the rights of the unborn. Last week, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed into law a bill that officially paves the way for building a monument on State Capitol grounds that honors and commemorates babies who were aborted during the dark times of the Roe v. Wade era in America.

Breitbart reports, the “Monument to Unborn Children Display Act” creates a private fund to cover the monument’s cost, and the Capitol Arts and Grounds Commission will design it, with the secretary of state having final say on its design.

Known as Senate Bill 307, the bill details how Arkansas, which now bans abortions except to save the mother’s life, was prevented from protecting the life of unborn children due to the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision, which declared abortion a constitutional right.

The bill reads, “During the period from 1973 to 2022, approximately at least 236,243 elective abortions were performed in this State. As a memorial to the lives lost from 1973 to 2022 due to the decisions of the United States Supreme Court, and as a constant reminder of our duty to protect the life of every innocent human person, no matter how young or old, or how helpless and vulnerable that person may be, it is the intent of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas to enact the Monument to Unborn Children Display Act and the Monument to Unborn Children Display Fund.”

According to state Rep. Mary Bentley (R), the legislation would allow the state to raise private funds for a memorial to “remember those children we were not able to protect and we will not be able to forget,” according to the Associated Press.

According to Holly Dickson, executive director of the ACLU of Arkansas, the pro-life monument is a “performative political stunt.”

Here is Sarah speaking as the first female governor of Arkansas at the March for Life this year. Pledge to make Arkansas Pro-life once and for all.

Arkansas, won the lottery for a governor like Sarah Huckabee who will fight for every single one of them tooth and nail. A monument to honor those hundred thousands of babies who never had a chance to pursue their happiness, a spectacular idea. I wish we could do that nationwide. But for now, we will take one in Arkansas.
