Mark Kelly Draws a Line in the Sand: No to Sinema

It looks like divisive political extremes have forced Sen. Mark Kelly to set some boundaries when it comes to Kyrsten Sinema’s re-election bid.

In a recent statement, Kelly adamantly refused to support the Democrat, indicating that an “independent spirit” was not enough for any divisive agenda he does not approve of.

Daily wire reports, over the weekend, Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) refused to support Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) since she left the Democratic Party.

On CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper on Sunday, Kelly was asked about Sinema.

Mark Kelly, a Democratic senator from Arizona, declined to try to get ahead of Independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema in the 2024 Senate race.

Kelly said Sinema still has a long way to go before announcing her candidacy. He just won re-election against Republican challenger Blake Masters in November.

However, Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego already announced he will run for Sinema’s seat and has begun campaigning.

In direct opposition to his statement on CNN Kelly stated during a KTAR news 92.3 interview “Parties, that stuff doesn’t matter to me, Sen. Sinema and I have worked very closely, and she is a very effective United States senator. We’ve worked closely on so many different things. But I am not going to get ahead of her on any announcement.”

Last year, Kelly ran as a candidate for Arizona, not a party.

Sinema became Arizona’s first Democratic senator in more than two decades after defeating Republican Martha McSally in the 2018 election.

Senator Mark Kelly has unveiled his divisive stance against Kyrsten Sinema’s re-election bid. Kelly’s move to disavow the current Independent representative is symptomatic of the political extremes in which many find themselves today, with worries over the economy, inflation, and Biden’s failure to deliver on his agenda all contributing. Of course, as representatives of their constituents, it is each Senator’s duty to be independent of party loyalties and adhere to what is best for the Country bring stability back – regardless of any collective agenda. It’s clear from this move that Kelly refuses to back Sinema in her bid for a second term, leaving both parties in shock.
