 In the latest development in the ongoing legal battle to pursue President Donald Trump, the Manhattan District Attorney’s probe into Trump’s financial dealings is backfiring. According to Trump, the DA’s office has dropped the case against him, leaving the Democrats with yet another embarrassing failure. And, a recent poll shows that even Democrats find the prosecution of Trump to be an outrageous abuse of power. In addition, a vast majority of Americans believe that this indictment would have little to no impact on Trump’s political future. President Donald Trump told reporters late Saturday that Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan D.A., may have already “dropped” the case against him.

While on his plane after his Waco, Texas rally, Trump reportedly told reporters: “I think they’ve already dropped the case. It’s a fake case. Some fake cases, they have absolutely nothing.”

Trump made similar comments in a post on Truth Social Saturday, saying. “The Manhattan D.A. Witch Hunt against me is DEAD, no evidence at all, & it has been conclusively proven that I did nothing wrong!”

District Attorney Alvin Bragg has yet to address the Trump case, which concerns the alleged “hush money” payments Trump’s former lawyer, Michel Cohen, made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Daniels and Trump have both denied having an affair.

The New York grand jury investigating the case heard Cohen’s testimony against Trump last week. During his Saturday rally, Trump called Cohen a “proven liar, a convicted felon, and a disbarred lawyer.”

Meanwhile, as Rasmussen Reports found on Monday, 46 percent of Democrats would consider Bragg’s possible indictment of Trump an “outrageous abuse of power.”

Further, a survey conducted by Trafalgar Group and Convention of States Action indicated that a majority of Americans believe that if Trump were indicted, it would either have no impact on his presidential campaign or would help him run again in 2024.

The vast majority of Republicans, 56.2 percent, said that an indictment would help Trump’s campaign. 32.5 percent said that it wouldn’t affect his campaign.

Among Democrats, a slight majority said that the indictment would hurt Trump’s campaign, at 42.7 percent. 42.5 percent said that an indictment would have no effect.

Among independent voters, 38.9 percent said that an indictment would have no effect, 33.6 percent said that it would help Trump’s campaign, and 27.5 percent said it would hurt his campaign.

The Manhattan DA’s investigation into Donald Trump’s financial dealings has failed once again, and it looks like it might continue to spiral downwards. Not only have Democrats themselves seen the case as an abuse of power, but the majority of Americans believe that an indictment against Trump would have little to no impact on his political future.
