Twitter Crowns New King – Look Who Just Passed Barack Obama with the Most Followers!

In a surprising turn of events, Twitter’s new king has been crowned, and it’s not who you might think. Move over, Barack Obama – Elon Musk has surpassed the former president, becoming the platform’s most followed person. This achievement is a testament to Musk’s impressive reach and influence, not only on social media but around the world. Let’s dive into the details and reasons behind Musk’s meteoric rise to the top of Twitter.

With 133.05 million followers, Musk became the most followed account on Thursday evening, passing former President Barack Obama, who has 133.04 million.

As of Monday evening, Musk was sitting with nearly 133.6 million subscribers while Obama was just shy of 133 million.

Justin Bieber is the third most-followed account. Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Cristiano Ronaldo, Donald J. Trump, and Lady Gaga are among the most popular accounts on the platform.

In comparison with Obama who tweets several times a week and Bieber whose last tweet was in December, Musk’s ascent to the most-followed account can be attributed to how often he tweets, usually several times daily. Additionally, it comes after he purchased Twitter for $44 billion in October 2022.

Due to his decision to lay off most of the company’s staff and crack down on remote work, Musk, a founder of Tesla and SpaceX, has been under near-constant criticism since taking over the company.

In addition, he has made numerous changes to the platform, sometimes reverting those changes within minutes.

Also, as part of Musk’s efforts to boost Twitter’s revenue, he is pushing Twitter Blue, a monthly subscription service that allows users to keep their verified status.

It’s no secret that Elon Musk is a force to be reckoned with. From founding companies like Tesla and SpaceX to promoting common-sense solutions for societal issues, he has made a significant impact on the world. And now, with the most number of followers on Twitter, he has solidified himself as a major player in the social media world as well. As we look to the future, it will be interesting to see how Musk’s continued presence on social media shapes the conversation around business, technology, and politics. One thing is for sure – he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
