Former President Obama has a lot to say about parenting to the new mayor elect of chicago, but is his advice overshadowing the more pressing political issues at hand?
A recent conversation between Obama and Chicago Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson has sparked controversy among concerned citizens.
The recent rise of Democrats in Chicago politics doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise to many. The windy city has long been known for its liberal tendencies, and the recent election of Brandon Johnson as Chicago Mayor seems to only solidify this fact. However, what may come as a surprise to some is the recent phone call between Johnson and former President Barack Obama.
According to sources close to the conversation, Obama reportedly offered Johnson parenting advice, specifically regarding the challenges of raising young children while holding an executive office. Although Johnson may be new to the political game, his young children will undoubtedly be thrust into the political spotlight, and it seems that Obama wants to ensure they’re prepared for the challenges ahead.
Johnson stated “ Obama spent a decent amount of time giving advice about raising a family with young kids while holding executive office,” and that “Obama made a general offer of assistance and support as Johnson takes office.”
However, some concerned citizens are questioning whether Obama’s parenting advice is a distraction from the more pressing political issues facing Chicago. With rampant crime, economic inequality, and a skyrocketing cost of living, many feel that Johnson should be focusing his attention on these issues instead of seeking parenting advice from the former president.
Despite these concerns, Johnson seems eager to take on the challenges of the mayoral position and has already begun pitching Chicago as a location for the 2024 Democratic National Convention. He has also received calls of support from President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, during those calls Johnson pitched that the 2024 Democratic National convention be held in Chicago.
While former President Obama’s parenting advice may seem like an innocent conversation, it highlights the larger issue of the Democrats’ plan to take over Chicago politics. With Johnson at the helm and Obama offering guidance, it remains to be seen how the Windy City will fare under their leadership. Will they be able to address the pressing issues facing Chicago, or will their attention be focused solely on raising their children in the political spotlight? Only time will tell.
