Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-CA) was crucified by Fox News host Tucker Carlson over luxury travel to Miami and New York paid for by campaign donors in his latest financial reports.

Referencing Swalwell’s relationship with Christine Fang in an alleged Chinese honeypot operation, Carlson joked, “When he’s not shagging Chinese spies, he gets to travel all over the world at his donors’ expense.”

A contributor at The Spectator, Chadwick Moore, joined Carlson to dive deeper into the congressman’s spending habits.

Swalwell, a co-chair of the House Democratic Steering Committee since 2016, has not shied away from reporting his jet-setting adventures. Last summer Swalwell even reported renting a limousine and holding a fundraising event at the five-star Ritz in Paris, which is far from the 14th congressional district southwest of San Francisco in which he serves.

Swalwell ran for president for three months in 2019 before deciding the polling was not moving his way. In January, incoming Republican Speaker Kevin McCarthy removed him from the House Intelligence Committee because of his involvement with the suspected Chinese spy. At the time, Swalwell called McCarthy’s move “political vengeance.”

By the end of the segment, it was clear that Tucker Carlson had succeeded in his mission. He had taken down Eric Swalwell in a way that no one else had been able to. And while Swalwell may try to save face, there’s no denying that his reputation has taken a huge hit. He has been exposed as a hypocrite and a danger to our national security.
