DeSantis forgets how he became governor, Trump’s Kind Enough to Remind Him

Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, is facing backlash from former President Donald Trump after distancing himself from the man who saved his political career. In true Trump fashion, the new campaign ad released by Trump for President 2024, Inc., boldly reminds the current Governor how he got to where he is now.

Former President Donald Trump never ceases to chill, as he has released a new campaign ad targeting Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The ad highlights DeSantis’s adoration for Trump in years past and reminds him of how he became governor with Trump’s powerful endorsement. However, the ad takes a turn as it accuses DeSantis of forgetting who made him and attacking the very man who saved his political career.

The ad, paid for by Donald J. Trump for President 2024, Inc., accuses DeSantis of attacking the very man who helped him win the governorship of Florida. The narrator suggests that DeSantis has forgotten how he became Governor and that it was Trump’s endorsement that propelled him to victory in the 2018 election.

The ad features a clip of DeSantis thanking Trump for standing by him “when it wasn’t necessarily the smart thing to do.” However, the narrator suggests that instead of being grateful, DeSantis is now attacking the very man who saved his career.

The ad comes as DeSantis plays it coy, teasing a presidential run in 2024. A reporter asked DeSantis about falling significantly behind in the polls and he replied: “I am not a candidate. Let’s see if it changes.”

The release of this ad is a clear warning shot to Ron DeSantis and other potential Republican candidates in the 2024 election. Trump is still a force to be reckoned with in the Republican Party. Any candidate who wants to win the nomination will have to go through him.

But the ad also highlights a growing concern among conservatives about DeSantis’s recent promises after being re-elected. If DeSantis chooses to run for the Republican nomination for the presidency, that will show his lack of loyalty to a man that did indeed go out of his way to help him in struggling times. If he chooses to jump in, the choice remains in the hands of the people who are deciding.
