Trump Surges in Latest Poll, Democrats Panic for 2024 Election

This just in: President Biden’s chances for reelection are rapidly diminishing as a new poll reveals former President Trump would trounce him in a hypothetical 2024 race. Shockingly, the poll also found that 58% of voting-age adults prefer someone else to be the Democratic nominee, while only 36% support Biden. In this report, we will break down the latest polls and their implications for the 2024 presidential election. Could Trump be the Republican nominee again, and will Biden be able to rally support in time?

President Biden’s chances for reelection are dwindling according to a new ABC/Washington Post poll. The poll found that former President Trump would defeat Biden in a hypothetical 2024 race. Shockingly, the poll also found that a majority of voting-age adults prefer someone else to be the Democratic nominee. Biden’s approval ratings have hit a new low, with his disapproval standing at 56% and his approval rating at only 36%. Furthermore, the poll shows that Biden is losing support among black voters and independent voters, trailing Trump by 9% among the latter. With a potential matchup between Trump and Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis looming, Democrats are in a state of panic. In this report, we will examine the latest polls and their implications for the 2024 election.

The latest ABC/Washington Post poll reveals devastating news for President Biden and the Democratic Party. In a hypothetical 2024 race, former President Donald Trump would trounce Biden with 44% of adults preferring him to Biden’s 38%. This result is a clear indication of Biden’s diminishing popularity as a leader, and a loss of faith in the Democratic Party. Furthermore, 58% of voting-age adults prefer someone else to be the Democratic nominee, while only 36% support Biden. The majority of these voters cited concerns over the 80-year-old president’s age and mental acuity as reasons for preferring someone else.

The poll also reveals that Biden is losing support among black voters and independent voters. In May 2023, Biden is trailing Trump by 9% among independent voters, after leading the former president by 13% in the 2020 presidential election. Additionally, his lead among black voters has also dipped significantly since the 2020 election, dropping from 75% to 35%. This decline is a troubling sign for the Democratic Party, who have long relied on the support of black voters to secure election victories.

A potential matchup between Trump and Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is also on the horizon. DeSantis has been widely speculated to announce a presidential bid as early as May 2023. According to the same poll, DeSantis tops the president 48% to 41%. With two popular Republican contenders, it seems that the Democrats are in for a tough fight in 2024.

Recent polls have shown that Trump is likely the only Republican contender who can defeat Biden in 2024. A February Emerson College poll found that Trump leads Biden 46% to 42% in a hypothetical race. It estimated that Biden would defeat DeSantis, 44% to 40%, and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, 40% to 37%. Furthermore, a Premise poll found Trump garnering a massive lead over Biden 47% to 41% in a hypothetical 2024 race, with DeSantis narrowly defeating Biden 39% to 38%. These polls indicate that Biden’s chances of winning a second term are looking increasingly slim.

The President’s approval ratings have also hit a new low, with his overall job approval rating standing at 36%. This is down from 42% in February and about the same as the previous low of 37% in a Post-ABC poll conducted in early 2022. His disapproval stands at 56%, including 47% who disapprove “strongly”. This is a stark contrast from his ratings during the 2020 presidential election.

The latest polls are a clear indication that President Biden’s chances of winning a second term are looking increasingly slim. With former President Trump leading in hypothetical matchups and the majority of voting-age adults preferring someone else to be the Democratic nominee, it seems that the Democrats are in for a tough fight in 2024. With a potential matchup between Trump and Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis looming, Democrats are in a state of panic. In this highly volatile political climate, one thing is clear: the stakes for the 2024 election have never been higher.
