DISGRACE: ‘Squad’ Members Shows just how TWISTED they Really Are

Tensions in Congress continue to rise as members of “the Squad” continue their vocal opposition to law enforcement. This week, two members of the group made headlines as the only Democrats to vote against a resolution honoring police officers killed in the line of duty. Despite overwhelming support from both sides of the aisle, these members of the progressive group refused to show even a modicum of respect for those who risk their lives every day to keep our communities safe. Such disdain for law and order is a concerning trend in the Democratic Party and one that fellow Squad members should address before irreparable damage is done.

In a collective display of anti-law enforcement sentiment, two members of the progressive “Squad” spent Monday trying to derail a crucial resolution that sought to honor police officers killed in the line of duty and express condolences to their loved ones. With a complete disregard for the selfless service and sacrifice of law enforcement, Reps. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., and Cori Bush, D-Mo., were the sole Democrats who voted against this pro-law enforcement resolution.

The pair was slammed on Twitter for their ‘nay’ votes.

One Twitter user wrote that Bush and Tlaib “should be removed from office,” adding, “they represent a fringe infestation of anti-Americans. The SQUAD members do not deserve a seat in our government.”

Another commented, “There’s no way to possibly measure the amount of disgust I have for Bush and Tlaib. Americans shouldn’t have to tolerate  people who are so grotesquely anti-American in our congress. In a perfect world, they would be banned immediately.”

And another said, “They are the lowest of the low”

Thanks to the support of Republicans and nearly all other Democrats, the resolution to memorialize law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty passed overwhelmingly. The amendment passed in the House of Representatives granted well-deserved recognition to the 556 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, including 224 officers killed in the current year, and 332 officers killed in previous years whose stories were recovered in 2022.

More than just honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in their service of the nation, the passing of this resolution ensures that the House of Representatives recognizes and acknowledges the invaluable contributions that our police officers and other law enforcement personnel continue to make to keep our communities safe. The resolution also pledged to equip police with the resources and training they need to do their jobs and protect our citizens.

It is crucial to note that the amendment opposed by the Democrats expressed “unwavering support” for law enforcement officers and offered “condolences and solemn appreciation” for the loved ones of lost officers. Despite this, Tlaib and Bush chose to vote against the resolution altogether – a decision that shows a blatant disregard for the essential role that law enforcement officers play in maintaining our society’s stability and safety.

The “Squad” members’ opposition to this pro-law enforcement resolution is unsurprising given their histories of anti-police rhetoric. However, it is encouraging that fellow original members Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., took a different stance and voted in favor of the resolution.

It is simply essential to have lawmakers who recognize the importance of law enforcement and are willing to acknowledge, respect, and honor individuals who put their lives on the line daily in service to their country. With this resolution, the House of Representatives has shown its dedication to supporting and respecting America’s law enforcement heroes.

In the end, the actions of Tlaib and Bush only serve to widen the divide between police officers and those they are sworn to protect. It is one thing to criticize instances of police misconduct, but it is quite another to show such blatant disrespect for the men and women who serve our communities day in and day out. By voting against a resolution that mourns the loss of officers who have given their lives in the line of duty, Tlaib and Bush are sending a clear message that they do not value the sacrifices these officers make. One can only hope that other members of Congress will stand up and denounce such divisive rhetoric before it is too late.
