Former Representative Considering Running for President Against Trump and Biden

A former GOP Representative is really considering throwing his hat into the ring for the 2024 presidential race, with the overrated promise of shaking up the field and providing a fresh alternative to Trump and Biden. Like many other candidates on the Republican side who have chosen to throw their name and have picked up no traction, he might or might not be met with the same faith.

The Former congressman appeared on CNN’s ‘Meet the Press’ to discuss a potential bid.

If Hurd does decide to run, he will face a crowded field of Republican contenders, many of whom have already begun laying the groundwork for their own campaigns. Trump, who remains wildly popular among the party’s base, has not ruled out another presidential bid, while DeSantis and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo are all seen as potential candidates.

Hurd’s background as a former CIA agent could also make him a strong candidate on national security issues, which remain a top concern for voters. He has been a vocal critic of Trump’s approach to foreign policy, particularly his cozying up to authoritarian leaders and his withdrawal from international agreements like the Paris climate accord.

However, Hurd’s potential candidacy also raises questions about his ability to appeal to minority voters, who have increasingly shifted toward the Democratic Party in recent years. As one of the few Black Republicans in Congress during his time in office, Hurd has spoken out about the need for the GOP to do more to attract diverse voters.

Despite these challenges, Hurd’s potential candidacy has sparked interest among Republicans who are looking for a candidate who can unite the party and appeal to a broad swath of voters. With the 2024 election looming, the race for the Republican nomination is already heating up, and Hurd’s decision on whether to run could have major implications for the party’s future.

We could say the former Congressman’s potential presidential bid could shake up the GOP field and provide voters with a fresh face amid the ongoing battle for the party’s identity but realistically speaking it would not. Hurd’s criticism of both Donald Trump and Joe Biden maybe be a good selling point however for a former congressman with not a lot of name recognition and ever so changing policies, he would have a hard time picking up steam. It would be wise for him to not waste money on this bid attempt.
