In Memphis, a community leader was nearly caught in the crossfire during a drive-by shooting while being interviewed about a police plan to enforce a teen curfew. The incident occurred in Whitehaven, where more than a dozen rapid-fire gunshots erupted, causing the woman, identified only as Yolanda, to quickly duck for cover on live television. The footage captured her falling to the ground and telling the TV crew to stay down and get down. Despite the chaotic situation, she managed to remain calm and spoke to a frightened reporter who could be heard breathing heavily. This is a terrifying example of the violence that plagues our cities.
