**Marines Attacked by Unruly Teens in California Beach Altercation**
In a shocking incident, three self-identified U.S. Navy Marines found themselves on the wrong end of a brutal assault by a group of disruptive teenagers at a California beach. The Marines were confronted after opposing the rowdy behavior of the young perpetrators.
At the San Clemente Pier Bowl area on Friday, Hunter Antonino and the other two Marines tried stopping the teens from firing firecrackers recklessly. Antonino later reported to KCAL-TV that after he made the request, he was met with a violent response. Social media videos of the incident show one teen attacking one of the Marines from the blindside, prompting an all-out melee.
In the graphic footage, two of the victims can be seen attempting to shield themselves from the barrage of punches and kicks. Thankfully, two other adults intervened and managed to disperse the violent crowd.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident and working to identify the responsible individuals. Despite suffering numerous injuries, the Marines refused further treatment beyond the initial care they received at the scene.
As a response to the appalling event, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department released a statement that they will investigate the matter thoroughly, ensuring all culprits are identified and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. They also mentioned an increase in patrols in the area to guarantee public safety.
Local news outlet KCAL mentioned that there were at least two city cameras in the vicinity that should have recorded the assault. San Clemente Mayor Chris Duncan expressed his shock, stating that Marines have always been welcome and protected in their city, which makes this incident particularly upsetting.
