Government Failure Unveiled: Unaccompanied Minors Left in Peril!

Prepare to be shocked by the startling truth behind the wasteful expenditure of $13 billion on unaccompanied minors at the border! This jaw-dropping revelation will leave you questioning the government’s handling of this crisis and the safety of thousands of vulnerable children.

In a staggering revelation, a new report exposes the wasteful spending of $13 billion on unaccompanied minors at the border since 2012. The United States Customs and Border Protection recorded a record-high of over 150,000 encounters with unaccompanied minors in 2022 alone. Astonishingly, the U.S. spent $2.1 billion on sponsoring unaccompanied minors just last year, averaging around $18,000 per minor encounter.

OpenTheBooks.com, an analysis firm, criticized the federal infrastructure for failing these defenseless children, despite generous taxpayer funding. Founder Adam Andrzejewski highlighted the human catastrophe caused by the chaos on America’s southern border, with tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors suffering the consequences.

The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) defines unaccompanied minors as those who lack lawful immigration status, are under 18 years old, and have no parent or legal guardian available for care. Shockingly, reports suggest that up to 85,000 unaccompanied minors are missing and unaccounted for by the federal government, raising serious concerns about their safety.

The ORR is responsible for making placement decisions and ensuring the well-being of these vulnerable children. However, disturbingly, unaccompanied minors are especially susceptible to human trafficking, exploitation, and abuse. The ORR’s budget has significantly increased since 2017, with grants totaling $2.7 billion allocated for fiscal year 2023.

The majority of spending, $7.8 billion, occurred in Texas, while New York received $1.4 billion, and Florida received $660 million. Grants were provided to entities such as Southwest Key Programs, Baptist Child and Family Services, and Health and Human Services.

Disturbingly, reports have exposed cases of unaccompanied minors being forced to work in dangerous food processing factories, in direct violation of child labor laws. A Florida Grand Jury report even accused the Biden administration of facilitating the forced migration, sale, and abuse of foreign children. Furthermore, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General criticized the agency for failing to conduct background checks on employees and contractors responsible for the well-being of unaccompanied minors.

In conclusion, the shocking revelation of $13 billion wasted on unaccompanied minors at the border demands immediate attention. Tens of thousands of defenseless children are suffering due to the incompetence and corruption within the federal system. It’s time to hold the government accountable and protect these vulnerable minors from exploitation and abuse.
