Mass. State Police Union Condemns Revere Beach Chaos: Outraged by Shootings & Rampant Unlawfulness on Memorial Day Weekend (VIDEO)

Massachusetts State Police Union Denounces Violent Acts During Memorial Weekend at Revere Beach

The Massachusetts State Police Union has declared its revulsion towards the incidents of violence and lawlessness that occurred over Memorial weekend at Revere Beach. Appalling behavior marred the peace and safety of this popular tourist destination, ultimately leading to its temporary closure.

Over the weekend, the state police had no choice but to close the popular Revere Beach, situated only five miles north of Boston, after chaotic scenes unfolded. Two unrelated shootings took place, leaving three individuals injured, while a group of minors engaged in a vicious assault. The State Police Association of Massachusetts reacted on Monday, denouncing the violence and lawlessness on display.

Families everywhere in Massachusetts should feel safe to enjoy parks and recreational areas without fear of encountering violence or illegal acts. The authorities revealed that the first shooting occurred around 7:10 p.m. on Centennial Avenue when a still-unidentified person fired into a crowd. A 17-year-old girl got injured due to this recklessness and was immediately rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital.

Less than an hour after the first incident, violence erupted once more near a bathhouse on Revere Beach Boulevard. A group of minors instigated a brutal fight, with one person on the ground continually stomped on by others. Another bout of gunfire followed, hitting a 51-year-old woman in the legs and grazing a 17-year-old boy. The woman received prompt medical attention at Massachusetts General Hospital, while the boy declined transportation.

Despite no arrests being made in connection with the shootings, the state police have apprehended a minor for illegal possession of a firearm after questioning him about the incidents. The State Police union praised the professional, restrained, and skilled response from its members during these events.

The union also expressed the need for collaborative efforts to address this type of behavior, as a strong police reaction cannot provide the sole solution. Community and faith leaders, elected officials, families, and other stakeholders must take a united stand and condemn this unacceptable behavior. Without a comprehensive approach, violent acts may worsen, as witnessed in previous years.

By working together, we can ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all to appreciate Massachusetts’ parks and recreation areas without fearing violent or illegal encounters.
