**MSNBC Guest Accuses Conservatives of Terrorism Over Target Boycott**
An MSNBC guest has accused conservative boycotters of Target and other major corporations of “literally terrorism.” Economics professor Justin Wolfers made the controversial statement during a recent appearance on the network. The retail giant has lost $10 billion in ten days due to a conservative boycott over Pride-themed clothing items for children.
Michigans Economics professor Justin Wolfers raised eyebrows in the conservative camp when he labeled those boycotting Target as “literal terrorists” during a recent MSNBC appearance. Wolfers suggested that either the conservatives are being cowardly or have genuine concerns about the well-being of their employees and received credible threats.
Target, which boasts nearly 2,000 stores nationwide, has seen a staggering loss of $10 billion in ten days amid a conservative backlash over Pride-themed clothing for children. Wolfers argued that if this boycott is successful, it counts as “economic terrorism” since the company changes its policies due to the threat to its employees’ safety.
According to the New York Post, Target’s stock value has similarly suffered, dropping from $160.96 per share just the week before to $138.93 per share. This 22% drop equates to a $10.1 billion loss in valuation, plunging Target’s stock price to a nearly three-year low.
In response to the controversy, Target withdrew items from a company called Abprallen. These items included “We Belong Everywhere” messenger bags, “Too Queer For Here” messenger bags, and “Cure Transphobia, Not Trans People” sweatshirts. However, many other products advocating for Pride and aimed at children are still available in Target stores.
This boycott is not the first instance of conservatives rallying against companies promoting LGBTQIA+ messages. Bud Light and other Anheuser-Busch products have already seen a $15.7 billion loss due to their partnership with transgender activist and influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
**In Summary: Accusations of Terrorism Overshadow a Growing Debate**
The comments by MSNBC guest Justin Wolfers labeling conservatives “literal terrorists” for boycotting Target may take focus away from a critical discussion around the retail giant’s handling of Pride-themed merchandise for children. The severe financial ramifications suffered byTarget and Anheuser-Busch highlight the increasing divide between public sentiment and corporate decisions.
