House Republicans are growing increasingly frustrated with Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s handling of the debt ceiling negotiations. The House Freedom Caucus has even suggested the possibility of ousting him from his leadership position if he pushes through the debt deal. The first Republican to explicitly back this move is Rep. Dan Bishop (R-N.C.), a member of the Freedom Caucus, who has criticized McCarthy for “emasculating himself and the Republican majority.”
