This year alone, over a dozen states have banned what the president describes as “medically necessary health care” for transgender youth.

Meanwhile, the month of June will be awash with corporate support for the LGBT movement; many companies are expected to showcase their alliance by adopting rainbow logos and sponsoring related events. While some view these acts of solidarity as a positive force for change, others argue that such “woke corporatism” is stirring up unnecessary controversy. This growing opposition is evident in the ongoing backlash against Bud Light, who enlisted transgender figure Dylan Mulvaney for a controversial advertising campaign.

Major retailer Target is also facing a boycott movement in connection to their sale of Pride products, including products targeted at children. Critics point to the company’s partnership with the brand Abprallen, which also sells items emblazoned with the slogan, “Satan respects pronouns.” Although the controversial items are not directly available for purchase at Target, the company’s association with Abprallen has further incensed consumers who demand change.
