Public Safety at Risk: NYC Mayor’s Bill Puts Political Correctness Ahead of Citizen Well-Being

New York City’s Democratic Mayor Eric Adams has just signed a controversial bill banning height and weight discrimination. In a scientifically inaccurate statement, Adams claimed that “body type” has no connection to a person’s health. The bill, set to take effect on November 22, has an exception for employers who need to consider height and weight to abide by federal, state or local laws and regulations. However, a CDC report reveals that obese people are at an increased risk of serious diseases, and those who are underweight also face serious health risks. Six other cities, including Washington, D.C., and San Francisco, along with the states of Michigan and Washington also have laws against height and weight discrimination.
