In a shocking turn of events, a 65-year-old man defending himself against an armed robber has been charged by overzealous prosecutors. New Yorkers are left stunned as Charles Foehner, who protected himself against a threatening criminal, is held accountable for his actions.
The incident took place in Kew Gardens, where a disturbed individual called Cody Gonzalez attempted to rob Charles Foehner. Surveillance footage clearly shows Gonzalez, armed and dangerous, approaching Foehner and demanding cash and cigarettes. When warnings fail, Foehner draws his gun as a last resort and shoots the attacker in self-defense. The result? Instead of celebrating Foehner’s bravery, law enforcement charges him with criminal possession of a weapon and firearm.
Ironically, Gonzalez, armed with a criminal history boasting 15 prior arrests, should never have been on the street to begin with. Suffering from mental illness, Gonzalez ceased taking his medication and began descending into a life of crime. Even his own family, who believe the state failed him, defended Foehner’s actions. Support for Foehner poured in from all corners.
New Yorkers, now left bewildered and concerned, demand answers as to why a man was charged for defending his own life. This case leaves citizens questioning the true meaning of justice, as they witness it being flipped on its head in their city.
