In a surprising turn of events, Kari Lake will replace Mike Pence as the keynote speaker at the Georgia GOP convention on June 9, alongside President Trump and other MAGA conservatives. According to sources, ticket sales have more than doubled, signaling strong interest in the event.

The political feud between Donald Trump and Mike Pence seems to be on hold, as Pence will not be attending the convention. Pence, who famously broke with Trump by endorsing Gov. Brian Kemp’s reelection bid, is now considering a White House bid of his own. If Pence runs, he will join a crowded field that includes Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, and U.S. Sen. Tim Scott.

Other speakers set to attend include Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, and former U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler. Georgia GOP chair David Shafer announced in an email that Kari Lake, former GOP Arizona gubernatorial candidate and potential 2024 Senate hopeful, would be the keynote speaker at the event’s Friday night dinner. She has since gained popularity among Trump supporters for refusing to concede her narrow election defeat.

Lake’s election for Governor of Arizona caught the nation’s attention after receiving Trump’s endorsement, and she has continued to fight against what she deems a stolen election. Her attorneys filed a Notice of Appeal and plan to take their challenge to the United States Supreme Court. According to The Gateway Pundit, new evidence shows Maricopa County employees engaging in secret and illegal reconfiguration of voting machines, targeting Republicans on Election Day.

Lake’s Political Strategist, Colton Duncan, tweeted that Pence’s team pulled out of the event because they were worried Pence would be booed off the stage. The Georgia GOP called Lake in his stead, and she accepted.
