**Heroic NFL Coach and Vacationers Save Toddler’s Life in a Dramatic Pool Rescue**
A young boy’s life was saved at an extravagant Las Vegas resort by a group of courageous vacationers, which included a highly esteemed NFL coach.
Raheem Morris, 46, the defensive coordinator for the L.A. Rams, was enjoying a holiday with his wife and three kids at the luxurious Encore resort along the Las Vegas Strip when a family day by the pool turned tense. A terrified father pulled his lifeless 3-year-old son from the water and sought a lifeguard’s help. Jumping to the rescue, NFL coach Morris and others swiftly took action to support the struggle for the child’s life.
Morris told ESPN that while witnesses dialed 911, he immediately searched for an automated external defibrillator (AED), a device capable of detecting abnormal heart rhythms and providing lifesaving shocks. Meanwhile, a doctor at the scene began performing chest compressions while Morris delivered and prepared the AED. Their collective efforts were victorious, as Morris confirmed to reporters that the young boy was alright and his wife shared his discharge from the hospital just a day after the incident.
The NFL coach expressed gratitude for his emergency preparatory training, thanking his organization for teaching proper CPR techniques and AED use. The league has made significant advancements in educating staff and athletes on important medical protocols in light of recent on-field incidents and tragic personal losses.
“You just never know when you’re going to need that stuff,” Morris said.
