Alabama Governor Ivey Sets the Record Straight after ESPN Misleads the Public on Recent Legislation

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey is taking a stand for fairness in sports. ESPN reported that Ivey signed a bill that bans transgender women from playing on female sports teams in college. But Ivey quickly corrected them, stating the legislation actually bans biological men from participating. The governor stated, “If you are a biological male, you are not going to be competing in women’s and girls’ sports in Alabama. It’s about fairness, plain and simple.” This puts Alabama alongside 20 other states that are preventing biological men from competing in women’s sports.
