Government Transparency Shattered: Millions of Dollars Vanish Overseas

Watch out America! A shocking new report has been released that reveals the US government has been funneling a handsome amount of American taxpayers’ hard-earned money to our enemies. Find out who these countries are benefiting off our corrupt government.

In a groundbreaking report released by Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and OpenTheBooks, it has been revealed that more than $1.3 billion of US taxpayer money has been funneled to Russia and China over the past five years. The investigation uncovered that federal agencies paid $870 million to entities in Russia between 2017 and 2022, while Chinese organizations received $490 million.

What is truly alarming is how this money was distributed. Over $56 million went directly to China through contracts and grants, with an additional $434 million distributed through subcontracts and subgrants. Similarly, at least $816 million was funneled to Russian entities through direct contracts, while $35 million and around $21 million were provided through direct grants and subcontracts, respectively.

Senator Ernst expressed grave concerns about the lack of accountability in Washington regarding these funds. She highlighted how institutions in China received millions of dollars for projects that were deemed pointless, but she claims to have the receipts to prove it. Ernst also drew attention to the controversial funding of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, where $2 million was allocated for bat coronavirus research prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, a report by the US Department of Health and Human Services revealed that the agency’s National Institutes of Health failed to effectively monitor approximately $8 million in grants given to EcoHealth Alliance between 2014 and 2021. Of this amount, $1.8 million was sent to the Wuhan Institute of Virology and other recipients. The FBI and Energy Department have also suggested that the virus may have originated from a Chinese lab.

The State and Defense departments were identified as major sources of funding. They spent $58.7 million and $51 million, respectively, on contracts and grants to Russia and China. Shockingly, the Pentagon gave $6 million for technical support to Chinese IT companies, despite previous warnings against such actions. Even COVID relief funds, like those from the 2020 CARES Act, were misallocated, with over $1 million going to Chinese companies.

The report also uncovered instances where the US Department of Health and Human Services contributed $4.2 million to Russian lab work involving treadmill experiments on cats, while millions more were allocated to Russian companies for health insurance and addiction research

This revelation raises serious questions about the integrity of our government and the protection of taxpayer funds. For nations they claim to hate, our government sure loves to fund our enemies. If our government weren’t so corrupt, we would hope that anyone involved in this corruption would be investigated and locked up.
