**CNN This Morning showcases radical anti-gun rights group, equating gun ban to ending slavery and promoting civil rights movement**
CNN This Morning recently featured internet journalist Samantha Schacher and actress/director Lake Bell, who are supporting the radical anti-gun rights group “Here 4 the Kids.” The pair attempted to gain support for their dream of banning all firearms in America, with Schacher going as far as to compare the banning of guns to the abolition of slavery and the civil rights movement.
CNN co-anchor Poppy Harlow allowed Schacher and Bell to push their cause for nearly three minutes uninterrupted, bragging about their sit-ins in Colorado. She pointed out that Democratic Governor Jared Polis rejected their liberal fantasies as unconstitutional. The movement aims to “shape a new social norm” where people can be more publically anti-gun rights. Schacher cited a USA Today poll claiming that 64 percent of Americans want gun reform, however, the number of people who actually want to ban handguns in the U.S. is only around 18 percent according to Gallup.
The discussion took an absurd turn as Schacher compared banning all guns to abolishing slavery, followed by Bell stating that the Constitution is a living document up for evolution. They both attempted to link banning all guns to ending slavery and equated themselves with the civil rights movement. Harlow agreed with the comparison, suggesting that their sit-in is modeled on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery marches. There was no mention of how America’s first gun control laws aimed to take the right to bear arms away from newly freed slaves.
