**A Tragic Collapse: Three Lost in Davenport Apartment Building Wreckage**
A heartbreaking discovery in Davenport, Iowa, as authorities announced that the bodies of three men were recovered from the ruins of a partially collapsed, century-old apartment building. As the victims’ loved ones mourn and residents grapple with the aftermath, fingers are being pointed at the building’s owner and the city for apparent negligence.
The six-story apartment building’s partial collapse occurred last weekend, leaving residents devastated and three men unaccounted for. Davenport Police Chief Jeff Bladel confirmed that the victims, Branden Colvin Sr., Ryan Hitchcock, and Daniel Prien, were found on separate days during the ongoing recovery efforts. As Bladel assures that no additional people are missing, families are left with unanswered questions about how this tragedy transpired.
Building resident Dayna Feuerbach filed a lawsuit against both building owner Andrew Wold and the city of Davenport, accusing them of negligence and inflicting emotional distress. Feuerbach shared her disbelief and anguish with Quad-City Times, admitting she never thought the building would be completely lost. Wold has yet to respond to requests for comment, only issuing a statement expressing sympathy for the tenants.
CNN obtained surveillance footage from a nearby building, showing that visible signs of the structure’s impending collapse were evident. An engineer’s assessment from May 24th highlighted the building’s instability, particularly its façade’s detachment from the interior wall. The engineer advised caution and a controlled removal of the façade, leading to a permit being issued and repair work
