In a shocking display, ABC’s “Good Morning America” recently trotted out far-left author Michael Waldman, who accused conservative Supreme Court justices of posing a major threat to democracy with their recent rulings. This outrage came during an interview promoting Waldman’s new book “The Supermajority,” which claims that the Supreme Court is moving in a dangerous direction compared to the left-leaning nation it’s supposed to serve.
During their conversation, interviewer George Stephanopoulos seemed to encourage Waldman to elaborate on his radical views. Parroting claims made in the book, Waldman declared that the trust in the court has “collapsed,” citing their “veering sharply” in opposition to the direction that America is moving. Waldman, failing to recognize that his liberal viewpoint is not a representation of the entire nation, took the opportunity to argue that lifetime appointments for Supreme Court justices are a significant risk to democracy.
It’s not new to see liberals undermine democracy, question the integrity of the Constitution, and throw tantrums when they don’t get their way. Waldman, bolstered by Stephanopoulos, used the interview to make blanket statements trying to discredit one of America’s most important institutions — simply because the far-left is not getting what they want.
Waldman’s twisted narrative, fueled by left-wing bias, is just another example of how desperate some figures are to promote their agenda. With biased reports like this one, vital institutions like the Supreme Court may be doubted by the people who need to put their trust in them. Don’t let the tragic misdirection of some authors and television hosts distract from the strong foundation of our democracy.
