**Cleveland Browns Players Suffer Scary Ordeal**
Cleveland Browns team members fall prey to criminals, as one player is robbed at gunpoint while another’s vehicle is stolen in separate incidents within 24 hours.
Rumor Bar and Lounge in downtown Cleveland became the site of more worry than fun for Browns cornerback Greg Newsome II and defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey. Early Monday morning, as the two athletes left the venue, one of them encountered six masked perpetrators who threatened him with firearms. These criminals then snatched his valuables and fled the scene in one of the players’ truck – a 2022 Ram 1500 TRX.
Inside the bar during the robbery, the other Cleveland Browns player did not witness the terrifying event. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. However, as of yet, none of the suspects are in police custody. The stolen vehicle, tracked using GPS technology, escaped interception due to its rapidly changing locations. According to WKYC-TV, a lack of surveillance footage has hindered the investigation so far.
The frenzy continued on Sunday when Browns running back Demetric Felton’s 2023 Dodge Durango Hellcat was reported stolen from a parking garage.
Such dangerous incidents happening one after another have understandably shaken the athletes, the team, and the community. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski expressed relief in his players’ safety and gratitude for Cleveland police’s efforts during a press conference. Stefanski went on to emphasize the need for streets to be free of malevolent individuals.
All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett offered a similar sentiment. He expressed the team’s responsibility to better the community by setting a positive example. Interacting with locals and illustrating desirable behavior appeared to be Garrett’s idea of displaying sportsmanship both on and off the field.
