In an effort to satisfy everyone, the company has diluted its commitment to its foundational principles. What was once a shining example of stalwart, faith-driven action has now been compromised.
Chick-fil-A has been known for closing its doors on Sundays, displaying a commitment to religious beliefs and values. Despite the potential billions of dollars in lost revenue, founder Truett Cathy maintained the business model that placed principles above profit. Unfortunately, it appears that Chick-fil-A may be transitioning away from these values under the guidance of the founder’s son and former CEO, Dan Cathy.
Chad Prather, political commentator and comedian, expressed his disappointment in the company’s recent actions. He notes that Truett Cathy would be rolling in his grave, as the company he founded shifts its focus from upholding moral values to appeasing the oppressed. Instead of firmly grasping the Christian principles that defined the company, Chick-fil-A has begun to prioritize the new slogan, “Better at Together.” This shift has led to the incorporation of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion into every aspect of the business, as their website declares their commitment to these virtues.
