Yet again, we see another leak from the Department of Justice (DOJ) in regards to a probe into former President Trump, while somehow remaining silent on any updates concerning the special prosecutor investigation into Joe Biden’s stolen classified documents. This pattern has become all too familiar and impossible to ignore as the urgent need for transparency on both sides becomes more crucial.

At the center of these recent leaks is former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, who testified to the grand jury in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s so-called “witch hunt,” as revealed by the New York Times. What remains unclear is whether Meadows was questioned on Trump’s efforts to challenge the 2020 election or the ongoing classified documents probe.

According to the Times, Meadows is involved in both of the two distinct lines of inquiry being pursued by Smith, one focused on Trump’s efforts to cling to power after the 2020 election and the other on his handling of classified documents following his departure from office. The timing of Meadows’ testimony and the subject of the investigators’ questions remain unknown.

This new damaging leak is just the latest in a series that has increased this week as a decision on whether to indict Trump approaches. Over 20 members of Trump’s Secret Service security detail have been subpoenaed in Smith’s investigation into the classified documents stored at the Mar-a-Lago resort. These agents have recently appeared before a grand jury in Washington DC.
