**Outraged Connecticut parents demand answers after a Pride Month video is shown to their young children without consent**
Parents in Connecticut are voicing their concerns after a Pride Month video was played for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students at Wells Road Intermediate School in Granby. The video included a scene where a child stated, “I never really felt like a boy, and I don’t really feel like a girl, so I’d rather be both.” Parents are arguing that they should have been informed before their children were shown the video, and some believe the children are too young to be learning about gender-related topics, according to WFSB-TV.
The video features children describing what Pride Month means to them, and parents argue that these are conversations better suited for parents to have with their children, rather than being introduced to the topic at school. One parent, Kyle Reyes, stated he was “extremely disturbed” by the video and has decided to pull his four children, all under the age of 9, out of the district, as a result.
Despite parental concerns, the superintendent’s office said the video was designed for children aged 2 to 12 and the issue would be dealt with internally. A letter from the school’s principal, Pauline Greer, was sent to parents, saying that the video was intended to remind students “it is okay to be who you are and still be treated with respect, dignity, and kindness.” However, Reyes mentioned that more parents are beginning to voice their concerns, and it’s time for them to start “fighting back.”
