**Parents and radical leftists violently clash in California over LGBT curriculum resolution**

Tension erupted between parents and far-left protestors outside a Glendale school board meeting, where officials discussed the incorporation of LGBTQ+ pride materials into their educational programs. With both sides unwilling to back down, the scene turned into an all-out battle – signaling growing unrest in the fight for children’s education.

Parents descended upon the Glendale Unified School District Headquarters with American flags, prepared to voice their opposition to Resolution No. 27. The resolution aimed to recognize June 2023 as LGBTQ+ Pride Month, thereby integrating LGBTQ+ topics into the curriculum. Supporters of the resolution gathered in response, waving pride flags and chanting provocative slogans.

In an attempt to separate the two factions, around 50 police officers sought to maintain a peaceful environment. When a small group of individuals behaved recklessly, law enforcement declared the protest an unlawful assembly, ultimately arresting three people. The resolution at the heart of the disagreement stated that recognition of pride month would support the LGBTQ+ community in the district.

Opponents of the resolution argued it would introduce gender ideology to young children who are not prepared for such choices. Criticism extended to the fact that parents cannot opt-out of the lessons under current guidelines. Many GUSD parents stated they would not “allow indoctrination of our children”.
