NYC Takes Charge: Sues Kia & Hyundai Over Excessively Theft-Prone Vehicles!

**Democrat Cities Sue Kia and Hyundai:** Several Democrat cities that have defunded their police departments and enacted criminal justice reforms are accusing Kia and Hyundai of manufacturing cars that are easily stolen. They claim these auto giants have endangered public safety and put lives at risk.

In a series of lawsuits, Democrat-led cities such as New York, California, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Baltimore, and St. Louis are taking legal action against Kia and Hyundai for allegedly failing to install adequate anti-theft measures in their vehicles, thus endangering public safety. The lawsuit specifically mentions vehicle models manufactured between 2015 and 2019, which reportedly lack electronic immobilizers to deter would-be thieves from breaking in and bypassing the ignition system. The decision to leave out such basic security features has led to an “epidemic of thefts” according to the suit.

The “Kia Challenge”, a notorious trend in which criminals boast online about their stolen vehicles’ exploits, has caused over hundreds of car thefts, 14 crashes, and eight fatalities. In New York City alone, Kias and Hyundais have represented 19.3 percent of this year’s car thefts, while account for only 2.9 percent of registered vehicles. Stolen Hyundai and Kia vehicles have increased by a staggering 660 percent in the first four months of this year compared to the same period last year.
