The Wisconsin Senate has passed bills to preserve access to gas-powered vehicles, snow blowers, and other machines. The bills aim to counteract measures like California’s 2035 requirement for all new cars, trucks, and SUVs sold in the state to run on electricity or hydrogen. Democrats have opposed such a ban, but the bills ensure Wisconsin’s energy needs are met without interference. The state’s chamber of commerce and energy companies recognise the importance of protecting access to natural gas and other reliable power sources. With New York already banning natural gas stoves and furnaces in new buildings from 2026, Wisconsin needs to stand up to environmental schemes to limit our freedoms.
