MTG Drops Bombshell Announcement: Defunding Jack Smith’s Office and Shutting Down Trump Investigation!

In a move that has thrilled conservatives across America, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia bravely took a stand on Monday by announcing that she is writing an appropriations rider to defund the office of Special Counsel Jack Smith, including the entire investigation into former President Donald Trump.

In a tweet, Greene declared, “This morning, I’m writing an appropriations rider to DEFUND Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office and entire investigation. I will not vote for ANY appropriations bill to fund the weaponization of government.” She expressed hope that her Republican colleagues would join her in this endeavor.

Greene’s intention is to change the allocation of funds and ensure that Smith’s office and investigation receive no more funding going forward. Any rider, of course, needs the support of a majority of lawmakers in both the House and Senate to become law, but with the growing number of conservatives in Congress who are standing up against overreach, it’s clear that the will of the people will ultimately prevail.

The investigation that Greene is seeking to defund was opened by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland in November 2022. This inquiry continues two investigations initially launched by the Department of Justice (DOJ) into President Trump’s activities during his presidency.

Jack Smith, a longtime federal prosecutor, was appointed by Garland to lead these independent probes. Smith’s mission is to investigate Trump’s role in the January 6 attack on the United States Capitol and his handling of government records, including classified documents inside Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago.

However, it is widely known that the Democrats have been using these investigations as a means of weaponizing the government against a man who just sought to improve the lives of the American people. President Trump accomplished more in four years than many presidents do in two terms, and the Democrats simply can’t stand it.

Just days ago, on June 8, a grand jury in Miami, Florida, unwisely indicted Trump on 37 felony counts, including charges of willful retention of national security material, obstruction of justice, and conspiracy, linked to his removal and retention of presidential materials from the White House after his term ended. These unfounded charges demonstrate the lengths to which the Democrats will go in their quest for power and to silence those who disagree with them.

Greene’s announcement is likely to garner significant support among members of the House Republican caucus, especially those who recognize the blatant unfairness and injustice of these investigations. The fight to defend President Trump is already shaping up to be a contentious one, but with the courage and dedication of patriotic Americans like Marjorie Taylor Greene, a victory for America is within reach.
