SHOCKING: Taxpayers Fund IRS Weapons, Blowing $35 Million!

Stop scrolling! We have breaking news; Open the Books, a transparency group, reported that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has spent over $35 million of taxpayer money since 2006 on militarized equipment including body armor, firearms, and ammunition for its criminal investigation branch. The past three years saw the agency spend $2.5m on equipment for agents. U.S. Senator Joni Ernst has now introduced the “Why Does the IRS Have Guns Act”, which will establish that the funds authorized to the IRS commissioner cannot be used to purchase firearms, ammunition, and other similar equipment. The proposed legislation would transfer the IRS’ owned firearms and ammunition to the General Services Administration which will either sell or auction them to licensed dealers and the general public with proceeds going towards reducing the deficit.
