Former President Barack Obama’s liberal agenda was called out by Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) on Fox’s Fox News Sunday, in response to Obama’s comments regarding GOP candidates who ignore race to validate the United States. Scott, a black Republican presidential candidate, hit back by stating that “the truth of my life disproves lies of the radical left,” and labeling Obama’s criticism as a high compliment.

Obama commented on minority GOP candidates who gloss over historic racism and fail to acknowledge it; he urged voters to be skeptical of these candidates. “If somebody’s not proposing — both acknowledging and proposing — elements that say, let’s not pretend everything’s equal and fair, we actually have to walk the walk and not just talk the talk,” Obama said on Axe Files podcast, before name dropping Scott and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.

Scott, however, defended his record, stating that his plan to address poverty and provide opportunities for minority communities through opportunity zones had seen over $50 billion go into the poorest, hardest-hit communities; the majority of them minority. He further criticized the Obama administration for failing to prioritize the funding for historically black colleges and universities, which has been taken to the highest level in the country’s history by Scott’s administration.

The Senator’s conservative tone was displayed in his attitude towards school choice, which is often criticized by the radical left and teacher’s unions. He stated his support for the program because of his common sense, lashed out at the failed policies of the radical left and President Obama, and promised to provide kids with quality education at every zip code. Scott emphasized that under his administration, he will ensure quality education for every child, unlike the Democratic Party, who choose to ignore the failures of the educational system in big blue cities.
