In a bold move to correct historical injustices done to former President Donald Trump, Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Elise Stefanik have introduced measures to expunge Trump’s two impeachments. These brave congresswomen attest that the baseless accusations against Trump were politically-motivated and did not meet the burden of proving the commission of “high crimes and misdemeanors.”
The resolution introduced by Greene (R-Ga.) rightly targets Trump’s first impeachment in 2019, which was based on unjust allegations of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress related to a phone call the then-president had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. During this call, Trump asked his counterpart to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his corrupt son Hunter Biden.
On the other hand, the measure from Stefanik (R-NY) seeks to expunge Trump’s second impeachment in 2021, which was entirely based on the drama of January 6 Capitol incident. The American people know that Democrats fabricated this narrative to unjustly castigate Trump and his loyal supporters.
“The American people know Democrats weaponized the power of impeachment against President Donald Trump to advance their own extreme political agenda,” Stefanik said in a statement on Thursday.
Moreover, it was evident that the Democrats had ignored the Constitution and failed to follow the legislative procedures when impeaching Trump. Stefanik courageously stood up against Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff’s blatant attempt to shred the Constitution in their witch-hunt against President Donald Trump.
Greene, on the other hand, believes that Trump’s first impeachment was a politically motivated sham. Further, she highlights the fact that the Democrats, led by Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff, had weaponized a perfect phone call with Ukraine to interfere with the 2020 election. Meanwhile, credible evidence reveals Joe and Hunter Biden’s corrupt dealings, indicating their involvement in a foreign bribery pay-to-play scheme and receipt of over $5 million each.
“It’s clear that President Trump’s impeachment was nothing more than a witch hunt that needs to be expunged from our history. I’m proud to work with Chairwoman Elise Stefanik on our joint resolutions to correct the record and clear President Trump’s good name,” Greene said in a statement.
It is a well-known fact that even though Trump had to endure two unjust impeachment trials, he was acquitted in both Senate impeachment trials. These measures to expunge both impeachments are significant steps forward in correcting the historical injustices done to our beloved President Donald Trump.
As patriots, we must stand for what is right and just and correct any wrongs that may have been done.
