In yet another brazen display of disregard for U.S. immigration laws, 20 migrants were discovered attempting to illegally enter the country by hiding inside a portable barn during a CBP inspection in southern Texas.

Border patrol agents, part of the CBP Laredo Sector, first spotted the portable barn, which was being towed by a pickup truck, as it approached the FM1017 Border Patrol checkpoint. Upon further investigation, the agents discovered the 20 undocumented migrants cowering in fear behind a plywood layer in the ceiling. The brazen attempt to enter the country illegally was quickly thwarted by the vigilant border patrol agents, who immediately removed the migrants and sent them to the Hebbronville Station.

An investigation later revealed that the migrants had entered the United States from various countries, including Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, with the intention of living and working here illegally. Their flagrant disregard for U.S. immigration laws is simply unacceptable and presents a clear and present danger to our country’s sovereignty.

This is yet another example of the rampant illegal immigration and human smuggling attempts that are taking place along the southern border between Mexico and the United States. Southern Texas, in particular, has become a hotbed for these types of activities, as cartels and other criminal organizations seek to take advantage of our porous borders and lax immigration enforcement.

Fortunately, the CBP Laredo Sector continues to work tirelessly to protect our borders and keep dangerous individuals from entering our country illegally. The agency deserves our utmost respect and support as they work to defend our nation against these constant threats.

It is imperative that we take a stronger stance against illegal immigration and human smuggling, and provide our border patrol agents with the resources and support they need to tackle this ongoing problem. We simply cannot allow our country to be overrun by those who seek to flout our laws and undermine our way of life. The Biden Administration must simply do better.

This incident is yet another reminder of why we must remain vigilant in our efforts to protect our borders and safeguard our country’s sovereignty.
