Whoopi Goldberg Goes off the Rails on ‘The View’ Following SCOTUS Affirmative Action Ruling

On a recent episode of “The View,” host Whoopi Goldberg went on a liberal tirade regarding the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to ban the use of race-based affirmative action in college admissions. Goldberg insinuated that America is still plagued by racism and that affirmative action was necessary to combat discrimination. However, she conveniently overlooked the fact that affirmative action policies promote reverse discrimination.

Goldberg then attacked Justice Clarence Thomas, who is famously conservative and Black, for his views on diversity. She accused Thomas of being “full of it” and claimed that he doesn’t know what diversity is. But perhaps it is Goldberg who doesn’t understand what diversity truly means. Diversity is not simply about skin color or ethnicity, it is about valuing different opinions and perspectives, which can only be achieved through merit-based admissions.

Furthermore, Goldberg ignored the fact that Justice Thomas’s parents were part of the generation that fought for equal voting rights, which helped pave the way for Black individuals like Goldberg to become successful. Justice Thomas’s dissenting opinion rightly pointed out that affirmative action policies are not only insulting to individual achievement but also harmful to young minds who are consigned to victimhood.

Instead of promoting diversity, affirmative action policies create a toxic environment where certain individuals are given advantages based on their skin color or ethnicity, not their merit. And contrary to Goldberg’s claims, affirmative action doesn’t level the playing field for disadvantaged minorities – it merely perpetuates the very discrimination it claims to fight against.

As for Joy Behar’s complaints about legacy admissions at elite institutions like Harvard, she conveniently overlooked the fact that legacy admissions benefit all races and ethnicities equally. In fact, legacy admissions are often the only way for middle-class families to send their children to top-tier universities, regardless of their race or ethnicity.

Ultimately, the decision to ban race-based affirmative action is a step in the right direction towards a color-blind society where individuals are judged solely on their merit, not their skin color or ethnicity. The end of affirmative action policies will help bring together Americans of all backgrounds and create a more harmonious and equitable society for future generations.
