Whoopi’s Misguided Tirade on SCOTUS’ Affirmative Action Ruling

Whoopi Goldberg, on a recent episode of “The View,” launched into a misguided rant on the Supreme Court’s ban on race-based affirmative action in college admissions. Claiming America is still plagued by racism, she overlooked the reverse discrimination that affirmative action has often promoted. She attacked Justice Clarence Thomas for his views on diversity, dismissing his opinions as irrelevant. Well, folks, diversity isn’t merely about skin color or ethnicity, it’s about a broad range of perspectives and ideas. It’s about merit-based admissions, not handouts based on race or ethnicity. And contrary to Goldberg’s claims, affirmative action doesn’t level the playing field for disadvantaged minorities, it perpetuates discrimination. It’s high time we moved toward a society where individuals are judged solely on merit.
