GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and his wife, Apoorva, have announced a groundbreaking $250,000 scholarship initiative aimed at reigniting national pride among America’s youth. The “American Identity Scholarship” will reward ten high school students with $25,000 grants each for expressing what it means to be American in a rapidly evolving world. The deadline for submissions is August 18th, 2023, and students from the Class of 2023 and those preparing for grades 9 through 12 are eligible to participate. Ramaswamy’s initiative comes in response to concerning trends among Generation Z, with only 16% expressing pride in being American. The scholarships will be managed by nonprofit organization Incubate Debate, known for fostering informed debates among U.S. students. This private citizen-driven effort aims to combat the disconnect and disenchantment among America’s youth.
