LOOK: Migrants Explore New Way to Avoid Detection at U.S.-Mexico Border

The crisis at the southern border has reached a fever pitch, as reports continue to pour in of large groups of migrants attempting to cross illegally into the United States. In the Arizona Sonoran Desert, Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents recently encountered a group of migrants wearing camouflage, a clear attempt at evading detection.

Yuma Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Dustin Caudle tweeted a shocking photo of this group, whom he stated had crossed the border from Mexico into Arizona. Tragically, these migrants were hiking through the harsh desert terrain in triple-digit heat, putting their lives in grave danger. Caudle reported that, during the prior week, Yuma Sector agents apprehended over 1,400 migrants from a staggering 42 different countries. This included more than 40 unaccompanied children, who are particularly vulnerable during such a perilous journey, as well as a convicted felon.

This is not an isolated incident, as this week Yuma Sector agents arrested a 31-year-old Honduran national named Alexander Aguilar Pozada. A records check revealed that Pozada has a felony conviction for the transportation, sale, and possession of narcotics in San Francisco. To make matters worse, Chief Patrol Agent Caudle stated that this dangerous criminal is also a member of the notorious Sureños gang.

Not to be outdone, the neighboring Tucson Sector also reported a disturbing incident involving migrants crossing through the desert. Chief Patrol Agent John Modlin tweeted a photo of agents from the Three Points Station Motorcycle Unit apprehending a group of migrants near Sells, Arizona. The agents tracked these migrants for over two miles through treacherous terrain, emphasizing the danger and persistence required to keep our borders secure.

As these troubling incidents continue to pile up, it is clear that our nation’s border security is in crisis. With these migrants coming from such a wide variety of countries, we can only imagine the potential threats they pose to our communities and national security. The time for action is now, before even more innocent lives are lost and our nation’s sovereignty is compromised.
