Riverside City Councilmember Clarissa Cervantes has been arrested for a second DUI, raising concerns about the integrity of elected officials. The incident occurred on the I-10 Freeway in Banning, just weeks after her previous conviction was dismissed. Cervantes, who is currently running for the California State Assembly, is facing calls for her resignation. The arrest highlights the importance of elected representatives setting an example and upholding high standards. The community and constituents are expressing disappointment and questioning her credibility. The potential legal consequences include jail time and a driver’s license suspension. Cervantes’ court hearing is scheduled for August 30. This incident underscores the need for accountability and transparency from public figures.

My thoughts on DUI people is: They BROKE the law. They COULD and HAVE MURDERED INNOCENT People. Second offence? STRIP THE DRUNK OF ALL DRIVING PRIVILEGES!! The vehicle being operated MUST BE CONFISCATED and a HEAVY FINE MUST BE IMPOSED!!
