The Biden administration’s radical climate agenda is threatening to rip away one of the most basic American rights: the ability to cook with gas stoves.

Fox Business White House correspondent Edward Lawrence grilled White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday about the administration’s plans to ban gas stoves and regulate water heaters. Her response? Oh, it won’t happen for a couple of years.

This is just the latest attack on American homes, as the DOE pushes to force Americans to replace their appliances to conform with their eco-fascist views.

Not content with taking away our air conditioning units, refrigerators, washing machines, and dishwashers, the Biden regime is now targeting the backbone of American cooking: the gas stove. This move is sure to outrage Americans who cherish their right to cook their food as they please. But that’s not the only appliance that’s under threat. The DOE is also pushing to regulate water heaters, potentially forcing Americans to replace theirs with expensive, inefficient heat pumps.

The administration is justifying this massive overreach by claiming that these regulations will help save the planet. But the truth is that they will do little to impact the environment while creating unnecessary burdens for American families. The gas stove ban, for example, is supposedly aimed at reducing childhood asthma, but the evidence for this is far from conclusive. A 2013 study found no evidence of a link between gas cooking and asthma symptoms.

But even if there were some evidence of a connection, the DOE’s proposed ban on gas stoves is a massive overreaction. It would force millions of Americans to replace their perfectly good stoves with expensive electric ones that are often less reliable and more expensive to operate. And that’s not to mention the inconvenience of having to re-learn how to cook on a completely different type of stove.

The attack on water heaters is similarly ridiculous. The proposed regulations would require new heaters to use expensive, inefficient heat pumps that would save very little in terms of energy use. And the replacement costs for these appliances would be astronomical, putting an unnecessary burden on American families who are already struggling to make ends meet.

In the end, it’s clear that the Biden administration’s climate agenda is not about protecting the environment. It’s about controlling every aspect of American life, from our energy use to the way we cook our meals. It’s time for Americans to stand up against this tyrannical overreach and demand our right to cook our food as we please.
