Enes Kanter Freedom, former NBA star and beacon of human rights, courageously took to social media recently to spotlight the contentious issue of transgender athletes in women’s sports. In his daring post, he humorously stated that he now “identifies” as a woman, asking if the WNBA might have a spot for him.
“I’m identifying myself as a woman!,” proclaimed the Turkey-born patriot, who proudly became a U.S. citizen.
“From now on y’all can call me ENISHA Freedom,” he declared, emphasizing the pressing debate of biological males vying for spots in women’s competitions. “I’m 7 foot and 270 pounds and wish to compete in women’s sports.”
“Hey @WNBA, are you looking for new talent?” he cheekily inquired.
Demonstrating his point further, Freedom attached a playful photo of himself with a woman’s hairstyle superimposed onto his image. This audacious move follows his earlier statement in which he raised poignant questions about the essence of women’s spaces.
“Men don’t have a place in women’s domains,” Freedom bravely asserted. “Be it restrooms, locker rooms, or sports fields.”
Drawing attention to his unwarranted exile from the NBA, he mused, “Since I’m sidelined from the @NBA, should I don a wig, proclaim my identity as a female, and begin ruling the @WNBA court?”
“Will it take this act to awaken public sentiments? Is it fair to the countless women athletes who’ve toiled tirelessly towards their dreams? Where stand the champions of women’s rights and the stalwart feminists in this dire hour?” he pressed.
It’s noteworthy that in the very same post, Freedom highlighted the alarming fact that he was ostracized from the NBA. And why? For having the fortitude to not kowtow to the league’s complicit relationships with China’s oppressive regime.
The NBA, sadly, has pocketed colossal gains from China’s unethical labor system. Alarmingly, a vast number of its merchandise, as well as that of its associates and players, trace back to Chinese forced labor camps. Through his bold actions, Freedom once again champions the truth, urging us all to awaken and stand for justice.
